Disable, reset, or deprovision a device
These actions solve different problems. Read the effect before choosing one.

Open device actions
- Go to Devices → Kiosk & Business+ Devices.
- Search by serial number or another available field.
- Open the device.
- Choose the required action from the left-side action list.
Temporarily disable a device
- Click Disable.
- Confirm that you selected the correct device.
- Click OK.
- Keep the device connected to the internet so it can receive the status change.
Use Enable when the device is recovered and should return to service.
Reset a device
- Click Reset Device.
- Choose one option:
- Clear User Profiles, removes user profile data while retaining device policy and enrolment. This is the recommended option for handing an enrolled device to another user.
- Factory Reset, removes user profiles, device policies, and enrolment data.
- Select the acknowledgement that the action removes data and cannot be undone.
- Click OK.
Do not use Factory Reset as a routine troubleshooting step unless you have a re-enrolment plan.
Permanently deprovision a device
- Click Deprovision.
- Read the warning: the device will stop receiving policies and remote management.
- Choose whether to also perform a factory reset.
- Confirm only after checking the serial number, asset record, and replacement or retirement plan.
To manage the device again after deprovisioning, it must be enrolled again and a suitable licence must be available.
Verify completion
Return to the relevant device list, refresh it, and filter by device status. Record the action, administrator, time, device identifier, and reason in your asset process.
