Configure device reporting and logs

Reporting policies determine what device information reaches Management Cloud. Enable the minimum data required for inventory, security, operations, and support, in line with your privacy and retention rules.

Configure reporting

  1. Open Business+ → Device Settings.
  2. Select the target organisational unit.
  3. Open User and device reporting, or search for a setting.
  4. Review the available reporting controls:
SettingOperational use
Hardware informationModel and hardware inventory
Device telemetryHealth and performance investigation
Recent usersUser-to-device support history
Kiosk session statusKiosk availability monitoring
Running kiosk appConfirm the active kiosk workload
Print jobsPrinting usage and issue analysis

Anonymous metricsAggregated usage and crash diagnostics
Device system log uploadRemote troubleshooting data
Performance traceDeep performance investigation
  1. Confirm the data purpose, audience, and retention period.
  2. Click Save.

Use the reported data

  • Devices → Device Overview, compare device status, kiosk status, licence, models, OS versions, and browser versions.
  • Devices → Kiosk & Business+ Devices, search and filter the fleet, choose columns, and export an inventory snapshot.
  • Device details, review last active time, last policy sync, hardware, versions, network interfaces, recent activity, and custom fields.
  • Notification Centre, investigate offline devices and other configured events.

Privacy and performance

  • Recent-user, print-job, log, and trace data can be sensitive.
  • Limit access through administrator roles.
  • Store exports according to your organisation's data-handling rules.
  • Enable system logs or performance traces for a defined troubleshooting window, then return to the normal policy when appropriate.
  • Increasing upload frequency can increase network and service load.

A device is not reporting

  1. Confirm it is online and not disabled, suspended, or deprovisioned.
  2. Check its organisational unit and inherited reporting policy.
  3. Compare Last Active with Last Policy Sync.
  4. Confirm proxy, DNS, firewall, and certificate settings allow management traffic.
  5. Restart only when safe for the user or kiosk workload.
  6. Compare with a working device in the same unit.

When escalating, provide the device model, FydeOS version, unit, last active time, last policy sync, and the missing report type.
